On May 20, 2006, Barry Bonds tied Babe Ruth, hitting his 714th career home run off of left handed pitcher Brad Halsey of the Oakland A's, in an interleague game played in Oakland, California. On May 28, 2006, Bonds passed Ruth, hitting his 715th career home run to center field off of Colorado Rockies pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim. At this rate, Mr. Bonds breaking Hank Aaron’s record of 755 career home runs seems more likely every day. Unfortunately, these glorious achievements might be soiled by allegations of steroid abuse. In time, history will solidify Mr. Bond’s place in baseball history, but in the meantime, we can only speculate. This survey is intended for residents of San Francisco that consider themselves Giants Fans. It is this very population that might hold the key to Mr. Bond’s historic portrayal in the future.
